You’ve found the perfect pair of Salvere compression socks or stockings that keep your legs feeling and looking great on the job. You feel comfortable and confident every time you pull on your Salvere compression garments.
Now your question is, how do I make those feelings last? Well, it’s easy! Salvere products are made of the highest quality fibers and are built to work as hard as you do.
Here are some pointers to help you get started:
Washing instructions
- Wash your compression socks or stockings daily.
- Use a detergent for delicate fabrics. Do not use fabric conditioner as this may block the pores and make the fibers stick together.
- We do not recommend Softly or other fabric softeners.
- Dry in a warm room overnight.
- Never dry compression stockings in the sun or on a heater.
- Do not dry clean.
- Do not iron or bleach.
Hand-washing instructions
- Fill the wash-hand basin with water.
- Add washing powder or special detergent and leave to act for a short time.
- Wash the stockings.
- Rinse.
- Wrap the wet stockings in a towel.
- Lay the towel-garment on the ground and tread on it, so that as much moisture as possible is pressed out of the stocking into the towel. Take the stockings out of the towel and hang them up.
- Leave to dry in a warm room until next morning.
Do keep in mind that while Salvere compression hosiery is designed for durability, all elastic fibers break down with wear over time. Proper care will increase your Salvere products’ lifespan, but depending on how often you wear them and how you care for them, you will eventually need to replace your compression socks or stockings.
Wearing Salvere
Properly fitting graduated compression socks and stockings should feel snug at first. It may take a few days for you to adjust to the pressure.
Helpful hints
- Compression garments are easier to put on when you first get out of bed, before swelling occurs.
- Remove rings and jewelry that could damage your garment.
- Use gloves (rubber or vinyl) to help position the garment on your leg.
- Make sure your skin is dry before putting on your socks or stockings.
- Avoid rolling or bunching the fabric as this will create too much pressure in specific areas.
- Apply a thin layer of cornstarch or powder to help the stocking (or sleeve) slide smoothly over your skin.
- Apply moisturizer to your legs (or arm) in the evening – not just before putting on your garment.
